Activ3 stroller & travel system
When we put the Activ3 together we couldn’t wait to get out and play with it.
Light and really easy to push
Although to look at its quite big, we were surprised how light it is to push and how well it manoeuvres making it a great travel system for using in the city and countryside.
Fantastic ‘control panel’ with great features
The Chicco Activ3 travel system has a host of great features, many of which are found around the ‘control panel’ around the pushchair handle which means that everything I need or want to adjust is all in one place, but also means that we don’t need to stop to make adjustments.
The brakes and front wheel swivel lock are controlled by push catches inside the handle and easily release with a button. The clever brakes have a safety locking system that means if you accidentally knock the brake off whilst on a hill for example the Activ3 won’t move until pulled backwards slightly.
So easy to adapt and use
The variable handle height is easily adjusted (particularly useful for us as Chris is much taller than I am!). The one handed ‘twist’ catch just in front of the handle bar allows the pushchair to be unfolded and collapse swiftly and easily. There is also a selection of sturdy pockets along the handle which a great for storing keys, drinks, the camera and the dogs lead.
Great suspension for uneven roads
The pushchair also has the option for suspension to help give Edith a more comfortable ride on uneven terrain, which can be activated by a catch above the rear wheels.
Really easy to attach car seat
The bar across the front of the seat is great for putting toy on and Edith loves to hold on to it, but also has a more practical function for securing the car seat to by removing the material coverings and simply clicking it into place.
Stylish but comfortable for Edith
We love the big, comfortable seat, with its stylish design, vibrant red colour and padded straps and restraints. It reclines fully for use from birth and is plenty big enough to accommodate Edi as she grows (we know because older sister Martha had enjoyed a sneaky ride!) The rain cover is large and ensures that the pushchair and car seat are completely dry. We wish it came with a foot muff (or there was one to buy as an accessory) as it’s suited to all weather so would be really useful.
The hood is wonderful in all weathers
The large hood is fantastic for ensuring Edith is well shaded in the rain or the sun and even has a UV protection of up to SPF50. There is also the option to increase the hood size by unzipping an extra part extending it all the way down to meet with the bar across the seat which has been great for helping Edith to sleep peacefully at a party and protect her from the wind and sun. There is a ‘viewing’ panel’ in the hood which is really useful to see inside.
Folds flat and compact
Although a substantial and strong travel system, the Activ3 can be folded fairly flat in seconds. The easy to remove wheels make it more compact so it could be stored in the boot or behind a chair.
Car seat and base are equally easy to use and safe
The car seat is comfortable and safe, whilst still looking stylish. The quirky curved handle and large hood mean it stands out in a crowd as well as being functional. Edith is very happy in the seat and we feel she is safe.
The Key fit base is great for quickly and safely putting Edith’s car seat in the car. This fastening on the back of the car seat is well designed for easy and quick, but ultimately safe installation. The car seat is released using a catch on the back. The base is fairly deep and I do feel like I have to lift Edith a long way up to get her into the base some days.
Did it pass our Happiness Test?
Yes! We love to be outdoors, walking and exploring and with its three chunky wheels and waterproof fabrics we knew the Activ3 travel system would be the perfect addition to our family!
